River systems not only provide the water resources but also carry and distribute sediment to produce the delta and fertile flood plains serving as the critical landforms for humankind's habitation.
I study the fluvial systems, focused on river morphology, sediment dynamics, and environmental fluid mechanics. I am particularly interested in researching the dynamics of water and sediment flow and in understanding their morphological expressions and broad impacts to the sustainability of the natural and anthropic systems.
I believe that diverse research methods can lead to different perspectives that comprehensively constitute our understanding of the river systems. My research therefore consists of numerical modeling, theoretical analysis, and both field- and lab- scale experiments.
